  • Dawn, it is true that the family deserves to mourn in peace. It is true that what these people are doing is horrible. But none of that enters into the equation regarding whether or not they have the right to do it/say it.

  • I thought the scariest thing about this story was Fred Phelps and his twisted inbred cult of psychos. Then I thought, no, the scariest thing is that there are people who would actually picket a funeral of a dead soldier (or anyone else for that matter).

  • While anyone with a kid knows that behavioral expectations from a 2 year old are sketchy at best, I think it depends on the parent how to react to a given situation. I have been on planes where parents have a screaming kid and do absolutely nothing to try to comfort or quiet them.

  • He was not fired because it was a God button, he was fired because it was a BUTTON, period. It is NOT a freedom of speech issue.

  • Misuses of the term "addiction" really piss me off, because it trivializes the term for real physical dependencies (drugs, alcohol)
